In New Zealand, women have a 1 in 9 risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer at some time in their lives. @dani_rose_gruzelier knows this all too well. At 26, Dani was diagnosed with stage 2 grade 2 multi focal ductal carcinoma. “In simple terms, I had been diagnosed with breast cancer. No family history and no gene mutation. Like most people who get cancer, I never saw it coming. My whole world turned upside down. I did 6 rounds of intense chemo, had a double mastectomy with removal of both my nipples, 15 radiation sessions and now I am doing targeted therapy for the next 5 years to keep this nasty disease away.”
If you’re coming to the Pink Ribbon Lunch on the 19th of May, you’ll hear all about Dani’s story and everything she’s been through - she is incredible and her positive outlook is to be admired. If there’s one thing Dani wants you to know, it’s this: “I urge all of you to get to know your boobs, advocate for your health and if you notice any changes to go to your GP immediately. With the amazing treatment and information we have about this disease there is an increasing amount of survivors like me out there.”
By purchasing a pair of CLIQUE PINK in either 7/8 length or The Biker Short, you’ll help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. For every pair sold, @cliquefitness will donate NZD$20.00 to help #BCFNZ reach more New Zealanders with early detection education, support those affected by breast cancer and fund research for life-saving treatments.
We hope you love wearing this Limited Edition colour as much as we do!
